5 Ways to Make Your Gym Experience More Enjoyable

10Fitness is such a big deal these days. Its all over my social media accounts. I think the majority of us have this love-hate relationship with the gym. We all love the results, but hate to put in the work. Sadly, I am no exception. My biggest challenge are my eating habits. I cannot seem to let go of carbs and sweets. When I get into that whiny "I don't wanna go to the gym" funk; I think its important to remind yourself why you need the gym and what the gym can do for you.

Here are five ways to make the gym a more positive experience.

1 Have a gym partner, a good one, that keeps you motivated and makes the tedious workouts a little more enjoyable.

2 After a great workout, life could not get any better for me. The gym gives me a positive outlook on my life overall.

3 Aside from the obvious physical results, the gym is good for your overall emotional health. It really does put you in a good mood. And like my girl Elle Woods said in Legally Blonde:

"Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Happy people just don't shoot their husbands. They just don't."

4 For those of you who are living that nine-to-five life, I think having a gym that's close to your employer would make it easier to actually go to the gym. I usually go straight from work. I bring my gym bag to work and change my clothes after my shift. I head right to the gym afterwards, before I do or go anywhere else. I find it easier to get myself to go before I have gotten home after a long day of work because lord knows once I'm home, its hard to get me out the house again. And  for those that are not living the nine-to-five life, maybe find a gym that's closer to home. It also helps avoid traffic depending on the time you go.

5 I have no idea how to achieve the results I am looking for on my own. For me, I find I am more active attending a fitness classes or hiring a personal trainer versus trying to do it alone. After my daughter was born, I was determined to lose all the excess baby weight. I joined the local gym and attended about 3 days a week. I slowly dropped a few pounds but was not satisfied with my progress. Eventually I stopped going all together and pretty much donated my money to Planet Fitness. A few months later, I was introduced to Patti from Lean Body Bootcamp. I tried a free class, fell in love and joined. I attended her classes regularly - at least 5 days a week for 45 mins. I dropped down to 108 lbs in no time with her. I achieved my goal and them some! I would have had better results if I ate better but I still looked great and was in the best shape of my life. I would have never achieved those results on my own. Thanks Patti!
