Navy Blue Stripped Blazer

You guys think I am kidding when I said I was holding on to the last few days of summer we have left. I cannot believe we are getting into our last week of August. My oldest starts Kindergarten on Friday and I am an emotional wreck.

I don't know about you, but the one thing, that makes me feel better is a indulging in some good old shopping. I shopped my heart out this weekend considering it was no tax week here in Connecticut and we had a bunch of back to school sales going on as well. 

I think that this look as been one of my favorites this season. I fell in love with this blazer. This look was inspired by the back to school trends happening right now. I wanted to shoot for something that was street style chic, edgy and perfect to wear during this season transition we are currently in. I know that shorts with blazer was more of the preppy guy look, but who would have thought it would look just as great on women as well. And since we are in the "back to school" season, I though a preppy look would be appropriate.

What I especially love about these shorts are that they are the perfect mom shorts; not too short, still stylish with the rips, and high waisted! I wanted to look chic yet edgy so I decided to pair these shorts with a stripped blazer for a touch of elegance, a simple lace cami and sandal heel. I finally found a way to wear shorts where I do not feel like a teenager! Whose with me?!?
