The Joys of Christmas
Hey Loves,
So the holidays are slowly creeping up on us. It is now crunch time till Christmas, or at least for me it is. Despite the crowds of people and the long lines at the mall, I truly love Christmas. It is such a joyous time of year, full of love and family. As I have gotten older, I have appreciated the simple things in life; family, friends, love, support, etc. I’m grateful for each individual around me that loves me and my little family. When I think of Christmas, I think of white snow everywhere, in a house full of beautiful Christmas decorations, surrounded by the people I love most. Think about it; your entire family curled up on the couch with the thickest, warmest blankets, drinking hot chocolate with marshmallows and whipped cream, watching Christmas movies. What a joy!
That being said, here are four principal joys of Christmas:
The Joys of Home
We have been living in our house for 3 years now and as time passes, it is more and more a home. We build memories. We create our own traditions. We laugh, cuddle, spend time together. A true blessing. It is such a joy to be at home. I grew up in a suburb town, where there isn’t much going on. I am used to being home and I love to be home. I am all for nights in, in PJs watching movies! I feel like Christmas time delivers a sense of home, maintaining bonds with the people you love. It is true what they say, home is where the heart is.
The Joys of Gift Giving
I love that Christmas is a time of giving. I personally enjoying gift-giving. I love to see the excitement my children get when opening up their presents on Christmas Eve. Now that she is older and knows Santa and Christmas, it is much more exciting. Last year, we gifted her a dream house and she went insane! She absolutely loved it and I warmed my heart with such joy! Aylah is still too little, she is only two but maybe this year she will show a little excitement when opening up her gifts.
The Joys of Gift Receiving
Who does not like receving gifts??? I mean, c’mon! Best feeling ever is getting something you really wanted from your loved ones. I remember my first Christmas with Ariel. It was back when Michael Kors bags and watches were a thing. He got me a rose gold watch with the matching tote bag to match! I jumped for joy with excited! It was the best Christmas gift I had ever recieved! I will never forget it.
The Joys of Love
Receiving is great; but there is nothing more than your loved ones. I thank God every single day for the unconditional abundance of love I have around me. Not just on Christmas, but everyday! I am truly bless to have my amazing friends and family that support me and love me regardless of the time of year. I work in an office where we service a needy public community and I am constantly being reminded of how wealth I am. I don’t mean money wealth, I mean family wealth, love wealth, support wealth. It is truly taken for granted and because it is in my face everyday, I thank God for everything that I have.
PS. A recipe for joy says you will do the best you can within your ability and capacity of time, money, and energy to make the holidays special for those closest to you. The point of Christmas is to express and receive love from those who care for you and you care for also. - Elizabeth Grace Saunders, Contributor Huffington Post
