Experiencing the Trendy Walk 8 Review

Last night, I had the honor of being invited to attend and experience the trendy walk with Ricky Davista (@rickydavista) at the Bill Miller's Castle in Branford, CT. I had heard about his lavish events before and this one definitely took my breathe away.

Lets start with the venue. The Bill Miller's Castle was appropriate for all the elegancy and class that was brought by the artists, designers and models that all slayed that runway. The castle is exactly that, a castle. With such attention to detail, from the stonewalls and fireplaces, three story cathedral ceilings, crystal chandeliers and exposed beams, it is the absolutely exquisite.

Because the invitation said 'formal wear', I wanted to be comfortable, yet elegant. I went with a maxi dress from Lulu's paired with champagne colored pumps, also from Lulu's and a beige clutch. What I love about Lulu's is that it hugs my body just right and for the most part, it fits perfectly! No alterations necessary. The fabric is thick, soft and comfortable to move around in. Although I am a little on the short side, its the perfect length as well.

I joined a couple other CT Blogger Babes during the cocktail hour; Jenna (@jennaleeannllc), Sarah (@sarahelizsabeth) and Juliette (@juliettiful). We caught up and mingled with a few models and designers as they arrived to the event. One of my favorite looks from the red carpet goes to Olivia Be Nguyen (@fiyab0mb). She absolutely killed an all black maxi with a thigh high split, statement bomber jacket, fedora hat, face mask and a beautiful black pump. There's no denying  that Olivia gave such an empowering statement at the show, wearing confidence like a sleeve and using fashion to do so.

Unfortunately, I was unable to stay for the entire show. I had to leave during the first intermission since it was about an hour and half drive, and it was a Sunday night so I had to be up early the next day for work. However, I was sad I had to leave when I did. The host and show was very entertaining. I was impressed by how much talent we have in Connecticut. There were pieces for each body type and (of course this is the mother in me) I was absolutely blown away by the little diva, Arielys Santiago (@divaarielys) that graced the runway in her beautiful white gown by Elegant Beauty by Natalie. She stole the show Ricky!

I am excited and I am looking forward for Experiencing the Trendy Walk 9 which this time will be held in New York City. With that being said, I can only imagine the levels of extraordinary Ricky Davista will come up with.

Salute to you Ricky Davista and your entire team on a successful and graceful event.
