Say Goodbye to Skinny Jeans in 2020: We have Some New Styles Emerging

I am so excited to see all the different options available to us when it comes to jeans. Jeans are an everyday part of my life so it is important to me have jeans that look good and feel comfortable. Although I do love a nice skinny fit; as I have gotten older, it has not been my first choice. And let’s be honest, it is not always the most comfortable choice either. Flares and boot-cut jeans are making their way to the front of the stage.

2019 paved the way for these different style jeans and made skinny jeans take a seat on the back of the bus. While its intent is in the right place, looking to create a sort of silhouette that hugs your entire leg, from the waist down to the ankle, its no longer flattering to my body

My favorite pair of jeans would have to be the Mom Jean. I love how comfortable they feel and how it looks on me overall. I have a pair from Zara that is in constant rotation. I don’t think Zara has them anymore however I will be happy to tag similar ones

The Boyfriend Jean

Boyfriend jeans want to act as if you are wearing your boyfriend’s jeans. It is more of a loose-fitting jean that is slouchy and somewhat baggy. This style is more relaxed, straight out of the 60s feel.

Girlfriend Jean

As opposed to the boyfriend jean, the Girlfriend jean is a more feminine version and has a more flattering shape. You can expect this style jean to be tighter and higher on the hip with a tapered slim straight leg. Although there is a bit of a slouch throughout the leg, most girlfriend jeans have a tight fit around the hips.

Mom Jean

My absolute favorite! This style jean has a baggy fit yet high-waisted I efforts to make your butt look longer. Most experts say that his style is the most unfashionable, unstylish type of jean however 2020 has changed all that. Mom Jeans can be found in cropped options and destroyed.

Wide Leg

My second favorite jean would have to be the wide leg style. I love this wider fit, usually by the knee area.  They’re just such a comfortable style that can be worn with flats just as good as wearing a stylish sandal heel. You can also add a pair of platform heels for a more retro feel.

Straight Leg Jeans

And lastly, another jean style you will be sure to catch me in this season is the straight leg jean. Since I am more on the petite side, I love how this style elongates my legs, especially the high-waisted pair. In order for this jean to work, you have to be sure it stops at the ankle. Having this style pant be too long will not work well at all, so be sure to have them hemmed.
